Traffic and Parking Study
SSAA Self Storage Traffic Patterns and Parking Demand Study
The Self Storage Association commissioned a detailed study into the traffic patterns and parking requirements for self storage facilities in Australia. This comprehensive study was completed by Aurecon (formerly O’Connell Wagner) after studying traffic movement through self storage sites across Australia. Aurecon are experienced traffic management consultants, who provide advice to a range of State and local governments on the matter. The report suggests parking rates required for self storage sites should be based on their size, and provides commentary on general traffic flow patterns. It also deals with the accuracy of gate data to monitor traffic movements, accounting for instances of tailgating and other means of entering the site without triggering an individual vehicular gate event.
