Constitution of the Self Storage Association of Australasia

Who are we?

The Self Storage Association of Australasia (SSAA) was founded in 1990 by a small group of facility operators and industry suppliers. It has evolved into a trusted and professional industry advisory body, representing more than 1200 centres across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

With over 850 members and growing the Self Storage Association of Australasia (SSAA) is the peak industry body representing the self storage industry of Australia and New Zealand.

The Association brings members a diverse range of benefits and services.  members include self storage facility owners and service providers from national multi location companies to the more traditional Owner-Manager single location.

Why become a member?

The SSAA offers a wide range of services and benefits to all members to assist in the operation of self storage businesses.

These services include a legal advice line and a 1800 (Australia) and 0800 (New Zealand) contact numbers; self storage agreements and the accompanying Manual of Advice and Procedures.  The SSAA operates a national office to assist members on a daily basis.

To keep members up-to-date with the latest industry happenings, the SSAA produces a fortnightly newsletter highlighting key issues plus a bi-monthly publication, The Insider magazine which is the official magazine for the Self Storage industry and is distributed to all members.

Networking events and training days are held regularly throughout the year in each state and in various locations in Australia and New Zealand.

The Association also hosts an Annual Convention and Trade Show.

Members work to a "Code of Conduct", which focuses on promoting a good image of the industry, complying with relevant laws and regulations, and treating customers with respect.
