Regional dinner meetings are regularly held across Australia and New Zealand in a premier venue and serve as an informal opportunity for discussion of local issues amongst colleagues and a platform for business networking opportunities. It is far too easy to get caught up in your own business and not take the time to stop and look at things from an outside perspective.
Regional Meetings give you the chance to do this. There is ample opportunity to discuss with other operators the state of the industry, discuss any issues you may be encountering and generate ideas on running your self storage businesses. All this, over a 3 course meal in an enjoyable atmosphere.
Each meeting generally has a carefully selected specialist speaker or trainer. Our speakers range from industry and non-industry professionals and provide insight, education and real life case studies on a variety of topics such as sales techniques, reducing costs, increasing facility income or small business. tactics
One of the real strengths of this industry and the Association is the ability for operators to discuss issues freely. This is partly due to the nature of the industry, with competition only coming from those businesses that are geographically close. This means operators are much more likely to discuss industry issues and share stories as you are not likely to be competing directly with them. There is no comparison when it comes to face to face discussions on business issues. Even if it is just getting a better understanding of how your business is performing compared to the rest of the industry. The ability to learn from others is crucial to any successful business, particularly in today’s competitive market.
Every SSAA member should attend at least one regional dinner each year, if for nothing else, to stay in touch with industry movements and help evaluate how your business is performing.
