The Self Storage Association provides a range of self storage legal resources to its members. All are provided free of charge to members to assist them in complying with the relevant legislation and industry best practice.
Resources provided include a range of standard storage agreements to suit the variety of storage options provided, such as managed storage, standard storage and mobile storage. A manual of advice and procedures that supports the legal agreements and provides advice in regards to issues such as; delinquent storers, police access, deceased estates, right of entry and much more. There are also various checklists that assist staff to ensure they follow the correct procedures as well as privacy statements and other documents that assist members in meeting their legal requirements.
The Self Storage Association also has two legal practitioners who are experts in self storage law to provide advice to members; Simone Hill in Australia who is widely regarded as the premier expert in self storage law in Australia and Rob Ferguson in New Zealand, who has dealt with more self storage cases in New Zealand than any other lawyer.
